Gary S. Jacobson
Mr. Jacobson serves businesses and individuals in all aspects of insolvency, bankruptcy reorganization, workouts, commercial litigation, and sale and lending transactions. In numerous bankruptcy cases in New Jersey, New York, and Delaware, he has represented debtors in possession, creditors committees, secured creditors, trustees, and landlords. He acts as attorney for individual creditors in prosecuting their claims in insolvency cases and defending against complaints alleging preferential payment and fraudulent transfer. Mr. Jacobson counsels clients on structuring transactions to insulate them from vulnerability in the event of subsequent insolvency proceedings.
Mr. Jacobson has been counsel of record in at least sixteen reported opinions in the United States Court of Appeals, United States District Court, United States Bankruptcy Court, New Jersey and New York Appellate Divisions, and Supreme Court of New York. He frequently lectures at continuing legal education courses, and has contributed to treatises on commercial litigation. Prior to joining Herold Law, P.A., Mr. Jacobson served as a Special Assistant Attorney General investigating corruption in New York City, and was a partner with a New Jersey bankruptcy boutique and a national law firm based in its New York and New Jersey offices.
