Alan L. Harwick, ESQ.
Mr. Harwick's practice specializes in the Division of Workers' Compensation for the State of New Jersey, where he defends the interests of the employer. His clients include multinational corporations, hospitals, municipalities, school boards, as well as insurance companies and third-party claims administrators. Having practiced for over 25 years in the field of workers' compensation, Mr. Harwick has developed a unique practice defending the interests of the employers. Mr. Harwick applies a hands-on approach with each of his clients, providing legal counsel from the inception of a potential claim through the resolution in the Division of Workers' Compensation whether it is a trial or settlement and, if necessary, appeals to the Appellate Division or Supreme Court of the State of New Jersey.
Mr. Harwick has been a guest lecturer for New Jersey ICLE, discussing the employers' perspective in claims involving the Second Injury Fund, as well as the interaction of the New Jersey Workers' Compensation Act and the Civil Practice in the Superior Courts, specifically the interplay of offsets and credits of Section 40.
As a part of his comprehensive representation of the employers' interests in the defense of workers' compensation claims, Mr. Harwick schedules regular and periodic visits with each of his clients to review claims, coordinate the employers' Human Resources, Property and Buildings, Safety and Risk Management departments, in order to form a cohesive strategy to reduce the frequency or severity of work related injuries.
Mr. Harwick has been voted by his peers as a Super Lawyer in the field of Workers' Compensation in 2005 and 2006. Mr. Harwick has also been AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell as Preeminent, the highest rating of 5.0.
